Are you a proud owner of the SIG P320 and looking to enhance your shooting experience? One way to achieve better accuracy and target acquisition, especially in low-light conditions, is by upgrading your sights. In this article, we’ll take an in-depth look at the SIG P320 Night Sights, their features, benefits, and how they compare to the stock sights. So, let’s dive right in!

Overview of the SIG P320 Night Sights

The SIG P320 Night Sights are aftermarket sights specifically designed for the SIG P320 series of pistols. These sights are equipped with tritium inserts, allowing them to glow in the dark and provide enhanced visibility in low-light environments. Whether you’re a law enforcement officer, a competitive shooter, or a responsible citizen concerned about self-defense, these night sights can greatly improve your shooting performance.

Benefits of Upgrading Your Sights

Upgrading your sights to the SIG P320 Night Sights comes with several advantages. First and foremost, these sights offer improved sight picture acquisition in low-light or nighttime scenarios, where standard sights may become difficult to see. This enhanced visibility allows for quicker target acquisition and more precise aiming, ultimately increasing your shooting accuracy.

Another benefit is the ease of installation and compatibility with the SIG P320 platform. You can easily replace the stock sights with the night sights without requiring any special tools or professional gunsmithing. They are designed to fit perfectly on the P320, ensuring a secure and reliable attachment.

Key Features of SIG P320 Night Sights

Enhanced Visibility in Low-Light Conditions

One of the standout features of the SIG P320 Night Sights is their ability to provide excellent visibility in low-light environments. The tritium inserts emit a constant glow, making it easier for shooters to align their sights even in complete darkness. This feature is particularly useful for home defense scenarios or situations where ambient light is limited.

Easy Installation and Compatibility

SIG P320 Night Sights are designed for hassle-free installation. You can replace the stock sights using basic tools, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Additionally, these night sights are compatible with various P320 models, including full-size, compact, and subcompact variants. This compatibility ensures that you can find the right sight option for your specific firearm.

Durable Construction and Longevity

Built with durability in mind, the SIG P320 Night Sights are constructed from high-quality materials that can withstand the rigors of regular use. The rugged construction ensures they can handle recoil, impact, and harsh environmental conditions without compromising their performance. Investing in these sights means you’ll have a reliable aiming solution for years to come.

Different Sight Options Available

SIG offers a range of sight options to suit individual preferences and shooting styles. Whether you prefer a traditional three-dot sight picture or a front sight focus configuration, you can find a suitable choice within the SIG P320 Night Sights lineup. Additionally, some models feature a serrated rear sight, reducing glare and improving sight acquisition even further.

Comparison with Stock Sights

Now that we’ve explored the features of SIG P320 Night Sights, let’s compare them to the stock sights that come with the P320. While the stock sights may serve adequately during daylight conditions, they lack the visibility and glow offered by night sights. The tritium inserts in the night sights provide a distinct advantage in low-light situations, giving you an edge when every second counts.

User Experience and Reviews

Many SIG P320 owners who have upgraded to the night sights have reported positive experiences. Shooters praise the enhanced visibility, ease of installation, and the overall improvement in their shooting accuracy. By reading user reviews and gathering firsthand experiences, you can gain valuable insights into the performance and reliability of these night sights.

Tips for Choosing the Right Night Sights

When selecting the right SIG P320 Night Sights, consider the following factors:

Consider Your Shooting Environment

Evaluate the lighting conditions where you predominantly shoot. If you frequently find yourself in low-light scenarios, prioritize night sights with excellent visibility and tritium inserts.

Determine Your Sight Preferences

Different shooters have varying preferences when it comes to sight configurations. Some may prefer three-dot sights, while others may favor a front sight focus. Choose a sight option that aligns with your shooting style and provides the most comfortable sight picture for you.

Budget Considerations

Night sights come in a range of prices, so it’s essential to consider your budget. While investing in quality sights is crucial, you can find options that strike a balance between performance and affordability.

Installation Process and Maintenance

Installing the SIG P320 Night Sights is a straightforward process. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, you can replace the stock sights using basic tools commonly found in gun cleaning kits. Additionally, it’s important to regularly clean and inspect your night sights to ensure optimal performance.

Conclusion

Upgrading your SIG P320 with night sights can significantly enhance your shooting capabilities, particularly in low-light conditions. The SIG P320 Night Sights offer improved visibility, easy installation, and a range of options to suit individual preferences. By investing in these aftermarket sights, you can improve your accuracy and increase your confidence as a shooter.

Remember to consider your shooting environment, sight preferences, and budget when selecting the right night sights for your SIG P320. Follow the installation instructions carefully, and regularly maintain your sights for optimal performance. With SIG P320 Night Sights, you can unlock the full potential of your pistol and enjoy a better shooting experience.

This powerful, deeply moving documentary follows the courageous medical staff who must treat wounded children as bombs fall around them.

Fera Fayyad, the young Syrian documentarian who made Last Men in Aleppo (and was himself imprisoned and tortured by Bashar al-Assad’s regime), returns with a chilling, shaming film shot over two years in a Syrian hospital in Ghouta, a city besieged by the Syrian government for five years until 2018.

If there’s a crack of hope here, it’s Amani Ballor, a hospital manager and pediatrician in her early 20s. “I know this life is hard. But it’s honest,” she says. Her deep sense of purpose is humbling – it carries her through hellish days treating dozens of bloodied and severely injured children. Her tenderness for her patients is also desperately moving.

The hospital is nicknamed the Cave because of its underground network of tunnels. When the Syrian army and Russian air force bombardment is at its heaviest, patients are evacuated to underground operating rooms and wards for safety. Among Ballor’s colleagues are a humble surgeon named Salim who plays classical concerts on his iPhone during operations (his own hands do a great job of imitating a conductor) and a friendly, cheerful nurse who prepares barrels of rice for the staff.

I suspect that Fayyad has exercised restraint in his editing of the carnage, as carnage after carnage is brought in, but it remains gruesome. Children suffocate after a chemical attack; a child is choked by a piece of rubble; a mother wails over her son’s body.

The footage was shot by three cameramen in the hospital and smuggled out of Syria. Fayyad, who now lives in Denmark, shows the everyday sexism that Ballour encounters in her work. A patient’s husband bluntly tells her that a woman’s place is at home. She is furious: “No one can tell me what to do.” Perhaps Fayyad is talking about the culture of aggressive masculinity. Assad himself is trained as an ophthalmologist, a doctor who bombs hospitals.

To say that The Cave would break someone’s heart seems far-fetched. Like Ballour, he has a goal: to draw the world’s attention to the suffering of the Syrian people.

Times are tough, and we know not everyone can afford to pay for news. But because we are reader-funded, we rely on the continued generosity of those who can afford it. This vital support means millions can continue to read reliable reports on the events that shape our world.

A moving documentary about US veterans haunted by traumatic memories from the battlefield and a therapist’s attempts to help them.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, has made life hell for 30 percent of the 834,467 Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who have received treatment through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In this harrowing installment of the POV series on PBS, filmmaker Laurent Becue-Renard focuses on the harrowing experiences of veterans and their families as they struggle to put their lives back together.

Fred Guzman, a California-based therapist and social worker, headed up post-traumatic stress disorder programs at the Veterans Administration in the late 1970s before opening The Pathway Home, a treatment center in Yountville, California, in 2008. In the vivid and emotionally raw footage captured during group therapy, we see veterans talk about what happened to them in war zones:

One young man describes killing a man who was only 25 meters away; he doesn’t know if the man was actually an enemy or just a guy “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
A soldier describes riding in a truck that hit a child and wonders what he would have done if he had been driving.
A soldier describes the death of the boy next to him in combat.
The soldier describes the nightmare of handling a truckload of bodies and how, in order to keep his sanity, he had to stop seeing them as people with friends, wives, and children.
Guzman argues that for these veterans with PTSD, returning to civilian life is not what they thought it would be. Wives and children often don’t recognize these angry, addicted or violent young men who are haunted by nightmares and panic attacks.

The war is still raging inside these veterans, and our hearts go out to them and their loved ones as they strive to think positively, forgive themselves, and change their shattered and closed lives.

Rory Kennedy’s fascinating, moving, and extremely important remarkable documentary, The Last Days in Vietnam, is actually two films at once. One is set almost 40 years ago and tells the incredibly dramatic story of the frantic, chaotic evacuation of Americans from South Vietnam as communist forces approached Saigon. The other film is the same story refracted through our awareness of the potential parallels between yesterday’s disaster and the similar U.S. withdrawals from Iraq and Afghanistan today.

One surprising thing about the movie is how unfamiliar its story will be to many Americans. For younger viewers, it will be more understandable. But this reviewer was an avid news watcher throughout the period covered and still came away from Kennedy’s film wondering: “Why didn’t I know more about all this?”

One reason, of course, is that the collapse of South Vietnam two years after the withdrawal of most American troops was so sudden and chaotic that it appeared mostly as incipient geopolitical spasms on the evening news. There was no clear, overarching narrative that Kennedy is able to provide in retrospect. Another reason, however, is that by 1975, Americans were so fed up with the Vietnam War, which had divided the country into warring camps for years, that they simply wanted to look away. In doing so, they exacerbated the tragedy they had helped to create.

Kennedy’s story begins in 1973, when the Paris Peace Accords, negotiated by the Nixon administration and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, brought an apparent end to the long and painful war in Vietnam. It was assumed that North and South Vietnam would remain separate states, like the two Koreas, and Nixon was able to withdraw US troops, proclaiming a “peace with honor.” And yet the agreement was, as one respondent put it, “a masterpiece of ambiguity.”

In one of history’s bitter ironies, the peace lasted for a time because the North Vietnamese believed Nixon was crazy enough to attack them again if they violated it. After the president was ousted in late 1974 because of the Watergate scandal, they saw their opening and took it. By the spring of 1975, their troops were flooding across the South (the use of red on a map has rarely been more appropriate) and the new administration of Gerald Ford showed no signs of America returning to war.

Several thousand Americans remained in Saigon, including contractors, journalists, security guards, and diplomatic personnel. As the South collapsed, many of these people became increasingly concerned for their South Vietnamese friends, colleagues, and family members. And while making evacuation plans would seem to be the natural course of action at this point, it was not one followed by U.S. Ambassador Graham Martin, a gentlemanly North Carolinian who simply could not believe that disaster was imminent until it literally hit him.

Meanwhile, in Washington, Ford was trying to convince Congress to vote for a paltry $722 million to help their former partners during what Kissinger called “South Vietnam’s last agony.” However, even the most ardent right-wingers in Congress were anti-war at the time, and no aid was forthcoming. Whatever one’s political leanings, it is hard to see this abdication of responsibility as anything but shameful.

As the communist forces closed in, a number of lower-level American servicemen began “black ops” to help their friends in South Vietnam escape the country by putting them on cargo planes bound for the Philippines. Soon the airport was bombed, and even that was impossible. When other South Vietnamese began to flee, piling aboard their own planes, and a flotilla of small ships set sail, many of those who remained desperate broke into the U.S. Embassy.

Helicopters were considered the least desirable means of escape, but by this time, it was the last resort. They had only 24 hours to do it. Washington ordered Ambassador Graham to be on the first helicopter, but he refused and stayed to oversee the dangerous evacuation, taking off on the penultimate helicopter. The Americans promised the Vietnamese that they would all be transported to safety, but in the end, 420 were left behind-a failure presented as a symbol of America’s entire history in Vietnam.

The post Documentary For Sama (2019) appeared first on One2S-Li-TheFilm.

]]>
“For Sama” is the story of a young Syrian woman named Vaad, who is making a documentary for her young daughter, even though it began in 2012, when her daughter named Sama (which means “sky”) was not even a thing. This is essentially a video diary that Vaad prepares for her young daughter, Sama, and wants her to grow up and watch the film.

The film has already received some recognition in the professional film community. First, the film won “L’oeil d’or,” the award for Best Documentary at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019.Next, the film was nominated for the British Film Awards BAFTA in 4 categories, winning the prize for “Best Documentary.” Moreover, the film was the first-ever documentary to be nominated in four BAFTA categories. The film also won the British Independent Film Awards for Best British Independent Film.

The film was shot with a handheld camera at a time when the protests against Assad in Syria had just begun, Waad was studying marketing at university and there was an atmosphere of freedom and optimism. The film is in the form of a retelling and covers the daily lives of those who lived in the Syrian city of Aleppo. Recall that back then, the Syrian civil war had not yet begun. But Vaad soon encounters the war and feels the consequences of the war.

The main character is acquainted with Hamza, a young doctor who decided to stay in Syria and help the wounded and sick during this difficult time. Soon this acquaintance will be pivotal to her life, (spoiler!) because after that she will have Sama.

Vaad is constantly filming what is going on around her, at times even seeming to keep her only daughter Sama in the shadows as her mother wishes to take the camera first and capture it, then asks the others about the whereabouts of her only daughter.

The film very openly shows the harsh aftermath of the war, the bombing, the wounds, the operations in the hospital without proper medicine and hygiene. There is a lot of blood in the film and the makers did not try to hide it, but showed it as frankly as possible.

Most impressive were two episodes from the documentary. In the first one, Vaad films the boys saying goodbye to their dead little brother and then the mother comes looking for her child! The next episode is a shot in the operating room when a wounded pregnant woman in her 9th month is shown. What happens next to her unborn child is hard to describe. It’s better to watch this episode for yourself – it’s probably the most emotionally powerful moment of the documentary.

During the war, Vaad asks the philosophical question: is it worth creating families and having children to go through such hell? Is it better not to? This is the kind of question that is hard to answer, everyone has their own opinion on the matter.

The film shares impressions and opinions of different ages and genders. For example, one adult male, watching a game of chess, drops the phrase, “If the king dies, the game is over. If Bashar al-Assad dies, the war ends,” he adds. A short remark about this line. How blind, stupid, and short-sighted a phrase from a seemingly grown man! This must have been what some people thought and assumed in Libya and Iraq. We know very well what happened to those countries after the deaths of Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein. But the boy living under siege in Aleppo assesses the situation as normal and behaves very maturely and calmly. He even asks Allah for forgiveness for his friends who left him alone under siege!

The main character, Vaad, is critical of Assad’s current government, even more critical than the actions of Islamist extremists, and Hamza curses Assad. Waad goes on to criticize Russian planes over the city and reports that they struck a hospital, killing 53 people. Airstrikes on hospitals are capable of killing the hope of medical personnel and ordinary citizens. The filmmakers even held actions when they held posters that read “Stop bombing hospitals.

It is obvious and visible that Vaad brings to the world a certain point of view from inside the country, Syria. But it is worth remembering that she had already fled Syria and settled in Britain with her family. She is now supported by the British media (e.g. Channel 4) and even by American TV channels like PBS, where she has been vocal about what has happened to her and her family, and others, while criticizing the Assad regime and Russian military support.

The second point I will focus on is her desire to win prizes and receive worldwide recognition at international film festivals. Watching several of Waad’s interviews, one can speak of this with great confidence. It would seem, though, that the main thing for the rescuer from this hellhole should be to bring that horror to the world, not to expect numerous prizes.
